ESTIMATED COMPLETION: LATE 2025
THE PIONEER NEW DEVELOPMENT
A NEW CHAPTER
WITH RESPECT TO THE PAST
The Pioneer is a former hotel in Cwmfelinfach, South Wales, built in 1905. Originally, it housed a pub and even a boxing club. For many years the Pioneer played an important role in the daily life of the community and the social life in Cwmfelimfach. It is a Grade 2 listed building, meaning it is of special historical or architectural interest. It has been vacant for at least 15 years. Over the years, the hotel has fallen into disrepair and the previous owner removed most of its interior, leaving a 'blank canvas' with only the exterior and the stairs retaining their original features. In 2024 Prohome Properties acquired the Pioneer with plans to bring this amazing and beautiful building back to it's former glory.
Prohome Properties will transform the Pioneer into 14 apartments, offering a mix of 1- and 2-bedroom flats, with a focus on preserving as much of the building’s character and original features as possible. Once the necessary permits are secured, construction will commence, with the flats scheduled for completion by the end of 2025. The apartments will then be made available for both rental and sale. Our goal is to create high-quality, affordable, and comfortable homes in the heart of the Valleys. Where possible, we will use sustainable materials and energy-efficient measures to reduce environmental impact and enhance the living experience.
Prohome Properties is incredibly proud to be part of the remarkable history of the Pioneer Hotel and to take on the responsibility of writing a new chapter for this exceptional building. We are committed to preserving its legacy so that future generations can continue to enjoy and appreciate its significance.
